Most home users must calculate their authorized load, excess capacity, and EV charger power intake needs. If there is a discrepancy, they must apply for a higher load. This is not cheap. For instance, if your authorized load is 5kW and you wish to build a 15kW DC charger, your current load will be insufficient to meet the power requirements of the charger.
